Growing up in the FIFTIES

What are some of your favorite memories of growing up in the Fifties? I remember going to the Strand Theatre on Saturday mornings. With only a quarter I could pay admission, purchase a small box of popcorn, a candy bar, and a 7Up soft drink. Many Saturdays at the Kiddie Club, my brother or a friend of mine and I would compete by singing or doing a ballet and win tickets for the next trip to the movies.

Personally I didn't know JANIS but she graduated from my high school with my brother. My sister said Janis taught her brother how to draw and helped him with his art career and also helped her sister with her writing career. She visited home more than the public was aware of. Janis lived not far from my parents. The dedication pictures were taken by my husband because i was sick. We plan to go by the house and take pictures with no cars or people being present. I reckon I should put some photos together for the new owners of the house for their memories.
